We take a look at what we expect to see at this years European trade event at the Business Design Centre in London.
Posted by John Grothier - PlayStation 2,Xbox,GameCube,PC,Game Boy Advance - UK and Europe

Games Market Europe promises to mark the advent of a new era in the European gaming business. The event has been designed to get to the heart of the video and computer games industry - and we'll be there from tomorrow to cover all live from the show.

Andy Lane, event director of Games Market Europe said: "This is just the start, we've had support from all areas of the industry since we announced the event and we're in the process of confirming and finalising agreements with many companies in the industry, from small organisations to the major players. Specifically, we're delighted to welcome Ubisoft, Codemasters, NCsoft and Buena Vista Games to Games Market Europe and look forward to unifying the whole of the industry under one roof between August 31st and September 1st 2005."

The Business Design Centre in Islington, London is the host to this massive event and all the major publishers and developers will be showing off their latest titles. So it all starts tomorrow and below are a few of the games we'll be reporting on.

  • Vivendi Universal Games

Vivendi will be showing off 50 Cent: Bulletproof for the PlayStation 2 and Xbox, will see gamers taking the role of a hard-hitting rap star caught in a web of corruption, double-crosses and shady deals that lead him on a bloody path through New York's drug underworld. Also on show will be playable versions of the PC title F.E.A.R. the latest first-person shooter from Monolith; the very latest version of Crash Tag Team Racing, which will appear on PlayStation 2, Xbox, GameCube and PSP; and also The Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction, which will erupt smashing its way onto PlayStation 2, GameCube and Xbox in a matter of weeks after the show.

  • Electronic Arts

Electronic Arts we hope will be showing off a few titles, but the one we are all looking forward to seeing here at Silicon Fusion is Burnout: Revenge. In addition to tricked out new race, crash and road rage modes, Burnout: Revenge takes the series' blistering speed and spectacular destruction to dizzying new heights with an all-new Revenge mode, challenging gamers to battle the clock and unleash their frustrations on rush hour traffic. The game is currently in development by Criterion Games for both the PlayStation 2 and Xbox. We also hope to get a glimpse of the latest in the Bond series from EA with James Bond 007: From Russia With Love. This new game for the Xbox, GameCube and PlayStation 2 will be based on the classic Bond film - but it will also feature some new plot twists, gadgets, cars and characters. Sir Sean Connery, appearing in his first-ever videogame, is lending his voice and likeness to highly anticipated project.

  • Codemasters

Codemasters will use the event to exclusively premiere a playable version of TOCA Race Driver 3. The game, which is due for release in February 2006 on PC, PlayStation 2 and Xbox, boasts the most individual motor sports ever seen in a single game and includes over 100 individual championships covering 35 different racing disciplines such as GT, Off Road, Touring Cars, Historic, Open Wheel, Rally and Oval racing. Codemasters has also confirmed that its PSP launch titles Colin McRae Rally 2005 Plus and TOCA Race Driver 2 will also be on display, along with playable versions of LMA Manager 2006 and Heroes of the Pacific; where players get the chance to take to the skies in a Hellcat fighter plane and defend the US fleet and blast the enemy out of the skies, as an epic opening clash sets in motion a series of great battles that range across the Pacific, including Wake Island, Guadalcanal, Iwo Jima, Midway, Leyte Gulf and the Coral Sea.

  • Ubisoft

Ubisoft will be showing off several upcoming titles including Peter Jackson's King Kong for the PC and all major consoles. This title promises to capture all the imagination, vision and emotion of the upcoming epic film. Attendees at the Ubisoft stand will see the final instalment in the hugely successful Prince of Persia series: Prince of Persia 3 (working title). The third Prince of Persia game promises a masterful blend of gameplay with the new 'Speed Kill' system and the option to play as the Dark Prince combined with a twisting tale of adrenalin, suspense and discovery, giving players a climactic close to the Sands Trilogy. Also on show will be a playable version of the stunning first-person shooter Far Cry Instincts, and also some hot new trailers of the highly anticipated Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter.

  • Eidos Interactive

Will we get a chance to see the upcoming Lara Croft Tomb Raider: Legend? This new outing for Lara is being developed by Crystal Dynamics for the Xbox, PlayStation 2 and PC. Lara is back and looking better than ever thanks to new Tomb Raider team members at Crystal Dynamics, who embarked on their own quest to rediscover Lara Croft. During their soul-searching mission, they unearthed past consumer surveys, conducted new research, re-read every game review, listened to lots of passionate pleas and opinions from gamers and re-played through every Tomb Raider product. From this introspection and open-minded search for a fresh perspective, Tomb Raider: Legend was born. In Legend Lara comes alive with intricately animated expressions, moves and abilities. An arsenal of modern equipment, such as a magnetic grappling device, binoculars, frag grenades, personal lighting device and communications equipment, allows gamers to experience tomb raiding as never before.

As well as all of the big titles we've mentioned we also hope to get to see many other publishers and developers at the show including, Buena Vista Games, Digital Jesters, Just Flight, Mastertronic, NCsoft, Rising Star Games, Sierra and Take 2 Interactive.

So the only gaming trade show in the UK starts tomorrow and we hope to see and report back to you as much as we can on all the titles we've mentioned and also many more. With the Xbox 360 launch drawing ever closer we hope to get to see some games running on Microsoft's new gaming console and also a good look at the newly released PSP - and see and play a few games for Sony's new handheld. As always, we will make sure that we don't leave Games Market Europe until we have seen everything the show has to offer, and as always, we'll let you know what we find.

Stay tuned to Silicon Fusion for all the Games Market Europe coverage you'll need - as we report live from the show.
