Nintendo has announced that it has sold over 500,000 copies of the new Game Boy Advance Pokemon games, Pokemon Ruby and Pokemon Sapphire. This can be attributed to both anticipation and press opinions of the games.

As well as the great performance of the game, the Game Boy Advance SP has also increased in sales by 50%. This kind of reaction due to just one game shows the sheer impulse of gamers when it comes to quality gaming. But the great thing for Nintendo is that it increases their user base for upcoming Game Boy Advance games such as Mario Golf, Advance Wars 2 and Golden Sun 2.

Another notable point about the Pokemon games is that each of the two games is significantly different (not just different Pokemon in each) and so true fans will probably buy both: once they complete one they will buy the other. This should ensure that the game stays healthily in the charts until Christmas time.
