As clear as scrambled Egg?
Finally we get some details on Billy Hatcher, but do they clear things up?

After much complaining about how strange and weird the game looked, Billy Hatcher and the Giant Egg has finally been granted some details by Sega.
Apparently the story goes something like this:
A land that was once prosperous and beautiful has fallen into darkness due to all the creatures living there being captured (yes, Sonic the Hedgehog did involve releasing trapped creatures and yes, this game is developed by the same team as the blue hedgehog). What's more, the creatures have been kidnapped by none other than, you guessed it, an evil King. And the only one who can rescue the creatures is a boy in a chicken suit. The suit has magical powers obviously, so it kind of makes sense.
Right, swallowed that yet? In order to successfully control the boy (Billy Hatcher, of course) players must collect eggs which can be nurtured and hatched in order to solve puzzles and use as weapons.
In true Sonic Team style, each of the stages in the game will finish with a boss (and by boss we mean the video game variety, so don't get thinking that level two will end with your boss from Kwik Save popping up) to add variety to the gameplay. As the missions vary and with the addition of a four player split screen mode, this could be a longer lasting game than some of the team's recent games (Sonic Adventure 2 was completed by most in one play). Let's hope that it puts Sega back on the platform for, er, platformers.
