Vivendi and developers Majesco are working on a new 3D comic book style shooter, that will take players to the animated streets of Hong Kong. Players are in for a treat with double-fisted shooting, fire breathing and Kung-Fu fighting when Drake is released later this year on the Xbox and PC. Described as an intense third-person, action-shooter - Majesco had this to say on Drake 'Drake combines astonishing cartoon-like visuals with intense action and a deep storyline, creating and experience much like starring in an interactive animated series or comic book,' said Ken Gold, for Majesco. 'In addition, the recent surge in popularity of anime allows Drake to expand across a variety of entertainment formats and appeal to a rapidly growing audience.'
Players step into the shoes of Drake, the lead character, and a member of the recently deceased '99 Dragons Clan'. Drake has vowed to avenge the murder of his gang and recover a stolen ancient artifact. But this is no ordinary ancient artifact, it has the ability to trap the souls of the living, and resurrect those of the dead. So as Drake, you must recover this potential weapon of evil, and as you have come back from the dead yourself, Drake will have an arsenal of supernatural weapons, martial arts and firearms galore. The game will feature a specially-created style of graphics called "rimlight" texturing. Drake also employs a special blend of cel-shading and environmental mapping that gives the game a unusual 'neon gothic' look.
After travelling back from ECTS on the London Underground, we feel like we're back from the dead ourselves, but we did manage to bring back these new Xbox screens of Drake in action.
