Driver 3 was one of the games we were most interested in seeing at this years ECTS. However, Atari only had a video of this much-delayed title running, and compared to other games in the genre, Driver 3 looked like it was far from complete. The video show a number of vehicles driving around the sun-kissed streets of nice, and although there were a few destructible objects like tables and chairs for the player to drive through, Nice seemed to us to be a very empty place indeed. We saw no pedestrians, no other cars on the road, to be honest, the video did not show the Driver we were expecting. The game was pushed back to a Spring 2004 release a few months ago, and we just hope that developers Reflections will make use of the six months to give us a Driver that will stand up with the likes of Grand Theft Auto series and the upcoming True Crime: Streets of L.A.
We will bring you more on the progress of Driver 3 on Silicon Fusion very soon; however, we did at least leave with a few new shots of Driver 3 in action for you.
