The Hobbit is the second most famous book from J.R.R. Tolkien, the first obviously being The Lord Of The Rings. Sierra have decided to turn The Hobbit into a videogame, and we are beginning to see the fruits of their labour.
The Hobbit will be a third person action/adventure game set in the mystical lands of Middle-Earth. The gameplay will be made up of platforming, puzzles, and fighting enemies. Characters will be familiar to Tolkien's fans; with players meeting Elves, Dwarves, Goblins, Trolls and Gandalf the Wizard. Settings may also be familiar to followers of the series; places like Mirkwood, the Lonely Mountain and the Shire are all open to exploration. With objectives like winning the Battle Of The Five Armies and beating the dragon Smaug, this is certainly set to be an epic title. Will this be just another lousy license conversion, or something that really captures the brilliant essence of the book? Look at the shots below as you ponder the question.
