11 Shots of a Dead man
Atari have released 11 new screenshots of it's upcoming Wild West shooter. Dead Man's Hand.
Posted by Chris Barnett - Xbox - UK and Europe

Despite the popularity of Wild West themed movies, there have not been many games based on the potentially interesting era. Lucas Arts showed everyone that such a game could be done with Outlaws (which could be the most under rated game ever), but no one seemed to take notice until now, where Atari have developed Dead Man's Hand.

Despite sounding like a badly named race horse, the game looks set to bring the Wild West back to life. It is essentially a first person shooter but with the important aspect that it is set in the good 'ol Wild West. And now Atari has released 11 new shots to give us a better idea of some of the set pieces we can expect to see.

The shots show the intended atmosphere of the game quite well; it is apparent that the standard set of first person features are there too (kills from behind using a melee weapon, explosions that send men flying like discarded chip-paper wrap and enemies that hide behind things like barrels). The things that give the game its apparent feel are train surfing with a gun in tow, saloon type shoot outs and barren landscapes with cracked land.

If this game is not as good as it looks, we will challenge all of the developers to a shoot out just after the game is released in November.
