Microsoft proudy show off the highly anticipated second instalment in the critically acclaimed RalliSport Challenge series at X03.

At Jaun-Les-Pins, France at Microsoft's X03 game show, RalliSport Challenge 2 made a stunning appearance. RalliSport Challenge 2, the highly anticipated second instalment in the critically acclaimed RalliSport Challenge franchise, will be released for the Xbox in 2004, and as well as photorealistic graphics and intense gameplay, this racing sequel has had more than just a new paint job. RalliSport Challenge 2 will include several new features including a brand-new graphics engine, online play via Xbox Live, the ability to set up leagues and tournaments using XSNsports.com, new race modes, and more cars and tracks. 'Racing fans, especially those who thrive on the excitement of rally racing, have a real challenge in store with RalliSport Challenge 2,' said Michel Cassius, senior director, Xbox platform and marketing. 'Now gamers can really go off-road and onto Xbox Live, where thanks to XSN Sports gamers can set up their own rally leagues, check their progress on XSNSports.com, and even play in large-scale tournaments. We're pleased to debut RalliSport Challenge 2 at X03, where it is in very good company with our best and broadest games portfolio yet.'

Developed by Digital Illusions, the people behind the original game and also the recent Midtown Madness 3, RalliSport Challenge 2 promises to include all the energy, passion, and thrills of rally racing. The game will also be the first racing title in the new XSN Sports brand. XSN Sports games let gamers compete in the first truly virtual sports league for your Xbox. RalliSport will feature five unique rally sports, including the new Crossover duel that tests a driver's skill and stomach for danger with extreme speeds on tracks that will challenge the best of drivers. The game features and updated graphics engine with realistic vehicle physics complete with damage modelling and performance degradation.

RalliSport Challenge 2 will feature more than 40 of the most challenging rally cars including the infamous group B cars that were banned because of uncontrollable horsepower. Players can also tweak their cars and make minor modifications to each car to meet the challenge of each track. As well as new cars, RSC 2 will have nearly double the tracks of the original, with new tracks from Australia, the frozen Nordic and the Pacific Northwest and variable weather conditions including rain, snow and fog. RalliSport Challenge 2 will also feature new camera angles that focus on spectacular crashes, and interactive environments including breakaway signs, moving rocks, and new splash and rain effects.
