29th September 2003:
First Nightshade screens
We have the first screenshots of Sega's spin-off from 'Shinobi' for you.
Posted by John Grothier - PlayStation 2 - UK and Europe

Nightshade is best described as a 'side story' to Sega's popular title 'Shinobi'. Players will live out the events following Hotsuma's victory over Hiruko's evil minions. Victory did not last long, and now as Tokyo begins the slow and tedious process of repairs, a new rift opens between Earth and the demon realm. Now the Japanese government enlists the talents of a skilled female ninja with a keen understanding of both martial and mystical arts. Nightshade has been renamed from the Japanese title 'Kunoichi' - the original name given to the game's heroine. In Nightshade players will battle countless demonic foes within a wide assortment of unique urban environments spanning rooftops, construction sites and industrial factories.

The game will feature an enhanced combat system provides greater depth, all-new attacks, and intense aerial action to allow players to fly higher, move faster and unleash unlimited combos and a wider variety of attacks. The game also includes unique scenarios allow you to fight atop fighter jets, moving trains, and industrial cranes, and players will be alble to perform combos to fill the new 'Chakra Gauge' in order to perform powerful ninja magic.

Stay tuned to Silicon Fusion for much more on Nightshade very soon, but until then we have the first batch of screenshots for you.
