Twin Snakes, Twelve Shots
Konami have given us some impressive images of Snake on the Gamecube.
Posted by Chris Barnett - GameCube - UK and Europe

As we had little to report on Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes at the ECTS, we can now give you the first signs of how promising the game is looking. Since we were only given uninspired shots before now, we felt compelled to wait for full quality screen shots to come out. And we have them today, we are happy to say.

The game will simply be a straight update of the original Metal Gear Solid but with dynamics from Metal Gear Solid 2 implemented. That means that the AI will be improved as well as the controls and sounds. But the biggest difference will be that of the graphics; not only are the actual gameplay graphics improved (in a way that look even better than the Resident Evil update) but also there are entirely new cut scenes to further the story with a greater emotional and entertaining impact.

From the shots below this looks good enough to interest gamers (though we are not sure about the half naked 'soft porn' shots of Snake!), regardless of whether they have already completed the game on the PlayStation or PC. Let's just hope that the combination of Hideo Kojima and Shigeru Miyamoto brings the best out of every aspect of the Gamecube, especially the controls as both are famed for their innovative use of controllers and technology.

The only negative thing appears to be that the game will not see release this side of Christmas, but that is yet to be confirmed. So fingers crossed that Konami surprise us all.
