Posted by John Grothier - Xbox,GameCube,PlayStation 2 - UK and Europe Sonic the Hedgehog will soon be making a multi-platform debut and also his biggest adventure ever, when Sonic Heroes is released for the GameCube, PlayStation 2 and Xbox. Sonic's trademark blazing speed will be combined with some new gameplay twists, and Sonic will have the help of his friends - as players can control three playable characters simultaneously, using Sonic's speed, Knuckles' power, and Tails' ability to fly, to conquer massive worlds. Using this brand-new team-based system will mark an evolution in Sonic's gaming career, and Sega promise that Sonic Heroes will take platform gaming to a completely new level. In Sonic Heroes gamers will be able to play as one of four teams for a total of 12 playable characters - Team Sonic, Team Dark, Team Rose, or Team Chaotix - each with their own unique signature moves and story line. Players will have to experiment with team formations to learn the best way to defeat enemies, solve puzzles, and navigate massive environments, and each of the games stages will contain multiple paths and missions for maximum replayability.
