As V-Rally 3 has already been released on the PlayStation 2, Xbox, GameCube and even the GameBoy Advance, PC owners could be forgiven for feeling left out. But they will happiliy get the last laugh as they get a much improved version of the game this Friday.
The game features all the impressive features of the home console versions (that's all the versions except the handheld version) such as 48 world wide tracks, 20 cars in 2 categories and a full career mode. But in addition to this, the developer Eden (an in-house Atari developer) has added many new features. The new features include imporved car dynamics, weather effects and car models. Whilst all of these features will improve both gameplay and presentation, the performance of the game has been tweaked to get the maximum from the power of your PC. That means there is support for ultra-high resolutions and extensive support for PC exclusive devices such as wheels, joypads and keyboards.
As the game was already good enough for many people, these extra features should make it a classic on the PC. After all, there is only really Colin McRae 04 to contend with and that is a little too serious for some people. V-Rally has always been the ex-arcade player's choice of rally game.
The shots below are from the Xbox version, so expect the PC version to look better when it comes out on Friday.
