Posted by John Grothier - Xbox,PlayStation 2,PC - UK and Europe Next Friday sees the release of Acclaim's new action-adventure, based on the savage battles, gruesome deaths and bloody mayhem synonymous with the Gladiatorial clashes of ancient Rome. Gladiator: Sword of Vengeance is set for release on Xbox, PlayStation 2 and PC, and the game will feature an intuitive fighting system and also mythical weaponry. Sword of Vengeance follows our hero and Gladiator champion Thrax in an epic adventure, as he challenges fierce warriors and wayward gods of terror to a fight to the death. Players will be able to fight multiple opponents and unleash an array of deadly combo attacks and bloody finishing moves. Acclaim promise gamers that Gladiator: Sword of Vengeance will feature all of the hallmark elements from action-adventure games, while at the same time creating gameplay that captures the brutality and ingenuity of gladiatorial combat. Gladiator: Sword of Vengeance includes more than 60 'Death Blows' - gory killing moves based on authentic historical data, and the game boasts a huge variety of opponents, including powerful nemesis gladiators and terrifying mythical monsters. For all you gamers who like the smell of blood, you will be please to hear that Acclaim have promised major 'Gore' elements in the combat, featuring decapitation, fatal wounding, dismemberment and a dynamic sounding 'blood spray' system!
