N-Gage's new line-up
Nokia announce new game titles for the N-Gage in 2004.
Posted by John Grothier - N-Gage - UK and Europe

Nokia have just announced a new games line-up for their N-Gage in 2004. These new titles promise to bring strategy, action, sports, and racing genres, to mobile gamers, and play a range of both exclusive N-Gage games and blockbuster titles in a new and exciting way.

The new titles are:

  • Ashen
  • Operation Shadow
  • Requiem of Hell
  • Sega Rally Championship
  • Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Jungle Storm
  • Worms
  • WWE

Many of these titles will allow mobile gamers to compete with multiple friends at the same time via Bluetooth wireless technology or to connect to N-Gage Arena services, such as downloading ghosts and tips or uploading their best game performance. Ashen and Operation Shadow, will take full advantage of the mobile multiplayer features of the N-Gage game deck, including multiplayer features via the N-Gage Arena.

"These new titles expand the N-Gage game portfolio with a range of blockbuster hits and new genres," said Pasi Pölönen, of Nokia. "The mobile multiplayer features of many of these titles will give mobile gamers the chance to play with other people, not just in the same room but even on the other side of the world. We are working with leading game developers and publishers around the world to showcase the innovation and excitement that mobility brings to the games industry with the goal to have 50 to 100 titles by the end of 2004."

In addition to the new titles, seven previously announced titles with strong multiplayer gaming over Bluetooth wireless technology are available. These include, FIFA 2004, Moto GP, NCAA 2004, Rayman 3, Red Faction, Virtua Tennis and Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Team Stealth Action.

Pasi adds, "In fact, players can't get through the co-operative missions of Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Team Stealth Action without working together. The game requires communication between players, which builds the whole element of social gaming and brings a new interaction through games at cafes, at the bus station or even on the move."

Early 2004 will also see the release of additional titles such as Marcel Desailly Pro Soccer and Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 2004. Nokia promise that this is but a glimpse at the wide portfolio of N-Gage titles coming in 2004 - stay tuned to Silicon Fusion.
