EyeToy: Play, 2 million UP.
EyeToy: Play reaches the two million copies sold mark and it looks like there is no slowing of sales, quite the opposite in fact.
Posted by Chris Snook - PlayStation 2 - UK and Europe

Sony is playing Santa this year or so it seems. After announcing that with over two million copies of EyeToy: Play having been sold in Europe since the combination of party games and USB camera/controller for the PS2 went on sale earlier in the year, demand has remained high. With new units having to be airlifted in from the Middle East to cope with the run-up to Christmas.

Patrick Inskip, of Sony in Europe has remarked "The demand for EyeToy has been fantastic, from Day one of release in early Summer right through the Christmas season." He elaborated on the efforts to bring further supplies into High Streets, "The use of air freight throughout this period has been crucial to keep up with the unrelenting demand across all of SCEE's European markets."

With the recent announcement of EyeToy: Play 2 earlier in the month, scheduled for this time next year, the Playstation 2 looks like it will be here for a while yet.
