Posted by Chris Snook - PlayStation 2,GameCube,Xbox - UK and Europe Motocross returns to the game players screen with Activision's latest offering MTX: Mototrax and it does have a bundle of neat features. Due for release across the Xbox, GameCube and PS2, the game boasts a bundle of innovations. Some such as the support for going online via the Xbox and PS2 are almost becoming standard but in this case racing against seven others should add a feeling of achievement when you win. The frame rate is a boastful sixty frames a second, offering smooth and responsive control over just where your bike is going to crash next. Career mode however is where things begin to look even slicker, non-linear and spread over three different MTX disciplines it offers a vast array of ways to develop your skills. Coupled with customisable riders who are upgradeable by earning, wins, sponsorships and gear/equipment advances, the realistic bikes and accessories from a range of manufacturers the career mode looks set to take over a vast chunk of time. Other features include freestyle events where you take on the in game A.I. to show off your tricks and moves and a track creation system for those who really wish to test themselves. Finally there are thirteen top, professional riders included to race against, each with strengths and weaknesses. Currently due out this March.
