Crimson Butterfly emerges
Turn Japanese and enter a world of nightmare and ghosts, will you survive?
Posted by Chris Snook - PlayStation 2 - UK and Europe

Ubi Soft, the French giants of the gaming industry have managed to snag a neat little title from Japanese publisher Tecmo, they who brought us dead or Alive and Ninja Gaiden amongst others as part of a deal between the two publishers. Its name is Project Zero 2 - Crimson Butterfly.

Rumoured to have a more psychological feel than gore in terms of horror, with inferences of things more than outright blood splatter, Crimson Butterfly plunges you into a nightmare world of ghosts and other nasties and the places they inhabit. Project Zero in Japan was a groundbreaker for Tecmo, shouldering a way into the Survival/Horror genre of the likes of Resident Evil et al and as such a few references to the original can be found, not the least of which is your main method of vanquishing the lost souls. A camera called Project Zero, where when a ghost is fully visible in the objective; one click (at moment 'zero') sends them packing.

Fans of the original Ring series from Japan will love this game, due to see the light of day this Summer.
