20th January 2004:
Nintendo's Christmas Was Merry
Both the GameCube and the Game Boy Advance SP were up in sales this Christmas. The stunning thing is exactly how much they were up...
Posted by Chris Barnett - GameCube,Game Boy Advance - UK and Europe

Nintendo today proudly announced their Christmas sales across Europe, and they make very interesting reading indeed.

The GameCube sold an astonishing 88% more consoles than last Christmas and the SP performed so well that software sales were up 104% on last year! With this taken into account, there are now nearly 3 million GameCubes in European homes with an exciting year in prospect.

Owners of the console can look forwards to Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles, Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes, James Bond 007 Everything or Nothing and Pokémon Colosseum. These are just the tip of the iceberg as there will no doubt be several announcements throughout the year.

With manner pessimistic gamers or jealous non-owners claiming that Nintendo is falling from grace, they can only look at these facts and figures and feel stupid. Those who have sense will then go out and buy a GameCube now to play any one of the triple A titles coming soon or already available (Billy Hatcher has featured in many a discount if you want a guide from us...).
