Ready yourselves for a delightful foe, Faerūn once more faces strife in Baldurs Gate: Dark alliance 2.

Acclaim entertainment today announced that they have secured the rights to publish Baldurs Gate: Dark alliance 2 by Black Isle Studios. They also seem really excited about that.

Rod Cousens, CEO of Acclaim remarked, "The Baldur's Gate franchise is hugely successful and there is already significant demand for this sequel among hardcore gamers and fans of the series, so we're extremely excited to have the opportunity to distribute it in the largest European territories," he further added, "This agreement further enhances and diversifies our portfolio as we continue to bolster our reputation as one of Europe's leading distributors."

Set in one of the Dungeons and Dragons® campaign settings, BG:DA2 continues the themes from the original as shadowy powers once again begin to coalesce, this time around the forbidding Onyx Tower, former stronghold of Eldrith the Betrayer. The most recent saviours of the City have disappeared and thus the stage is set for a new band of heroes to take the stage.

Featuring a hundred levels of game play, five new fully customisable Player Characters and various fighting styles and the ability to create your own magic items of terrifying power BG:DA2 is bigger and meaner than its older brother. By some margin.

Set for release on Xbox and PS2 February 6th.
