Deadly screens
Deadly Skies III soars on to the PlayStation 2, and we have the screens to prove it!

Konami have just announced that Deadly Skies III will be winging its way on to the PlayStation 2 this coming April. Fast-paced air combat is the order of the day, and PS2 owners will get the chance to fly a squadron of officially-licensed aircraft, with the combat missions enhanced with some breathtaking graphics, a larger number of characters, twisting plots and over 130 aircraft. Again, the game concentrates on the efforts of the heroes of Delta Squadron, a crack unit of pilots, committed to protecting the world from enemy forces in the deadly skies and beyond.

Players will be able to select one of 20 members of the Force, before guiding their chosen hero through the 60 squad-based futuristic missions. Missions will involve taking out key installations, convoys or weapon facilities, before leaving the atmosphere of Earth, and venturing into space - where the biggest threat to Earth is lurking. To help counter the various threats, players have access to over 130 aircraft, each of which is tailored to the unique flying styles of the pilots and particularly suited for particular missions. Officially-licensed and intricately recreated craft such as the MiG-29SMT 'Fulcrum C', the F-15ETM 'Strike Eagle', Eurofighter Typhoon and F-2ATM are lined up alongside classic World War II propeller-class craft and even the Vic Viper craft from Konami's ever-popular Gradius series of shoot 'em ups!
