At this years BAFTA Games Awards 350 members of the games industry saw Nintendo pick up four prestigious awards. Hosted by comic Bill Bailey, Nintendo took home BAFTAs for Advance Wars 2: Black Hole Rising on the Game Boy Advance, which won for Best Strategy Game and Best Game Boy Advance Game. Also the Miyamoto classic The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker received a BAFTA for Best Adventure Game and the multi-award winning Metroid Prime received its BAFTA for Best GameCube Game.

2003 was a good year for Nintendo, with some great games for both the GameCube and Game Boy Advance. Nintendo scooped a grand total of 14 awards in 2003 before adding a further four BAFTAs to its collection. But will Nintendo be picking up any awards for their 2004 line up? Lets hope so.

Other winners were for Sony's Eye Toy: Play, which took home BAFTAs in the Children’s and Technical Achievement categories. Battlefield 1942 won in the category Multiplayer, FIFA 2004 took the BAFTA for Sports, Project Gotham Racing 2 won the Award for Racing. The fantastic Soulcaliber II won in the category Animation/Intro, and best Music was won by Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets.

Call of Duty from Activision won the sought after Game on Any Platform - The Year’s Best Game.

Also the mobile game category was contested by six highly innovative titles showcasing the best and brightest in mobile gaming, which is now the games industry's fastest growing sector. In the end however there could be only one winner: Tony Hawk's Pro Skater for the Nokia N-Gage.
