The name's Goldeneye
EA gambles Everything and Nothing on a new Bond franchise spin-off.
Posted by Chris Snook - GameCube,PlayStation 2,Xbox,Game Boy Advance - UK and Europe

There are few bigger gaming franchises out there than the one for 007. Now with the success of James Bond: Everything or Nothing around the world, rumours are turning to what maybe the next to bear the name Bond.

The original Goldeneye was undoubtedly a corking game, smooth, simple and fun. It proved that consoles were capable of supporting a game in the first person shooter bracket and gave the N64 a needed shot in the arm. Now it looks like Electronic Arts are turning back to that game for inspiration for the next game in the murky world of Bond. Tentatively called Goldeneye 2.

The main character is set to be an agent who was set to gain the coveted 00 status when he is dismissed for being far too brutal, even for MI6. From there you join the organisation of Auric Goldfinger, failed robber of Fort Knox in his quest to try and gain control of the worlds largest criminal fraternity.

Set to be released on all major platforms.
