13th March 2004:
Chaos takes the field
Welcome monster sports fans as we join Digital Jesters in their forthcoming Chaos League. This is going to be one hell of a game.
Posted by Chris Snook - PC - UK and Europe

Digital Jesters seem to have made it almost a trademark that they find the more unusual games out there and then let them loose on the public. Savage was a good case in point, a hybrid of RTS and Shooter that delivered both in a fine blend.

Now they have snagged another title that should again redefine the lines of genre. Chaos League is a cross between John Madden, the old Bloodbowl tabletop game and plenty of Dark Fantasy Elements.

You run a Chaos League team, a brutal sport that makes Aussie Rules football seem like croquet. Your job is to make it the meanest and best team around and compete in the divisions and climb the league rankings. By any means you can. If this means stomp, clobber, shred opponents and even occasionally pass the ball to a team-mate in order to make it to the end zone and score those points. When not actually playing a fully interactive management game is there to trade, train and improve your squad, made up of up to 70 players from 10 races each with different abilities.

Play can be online with another 8 people in persistent gaming leagues or the action can take place on a single PC.

Looks like a lock for this June.
