Based on an all to real scenario Mercenaries is grounded in the real world politics of the present and ramps them forwards to the near future.
North Korea has undergone a coup and fifty-two of the hardliner regime that has been deposed have gone to ground. Between them they can unleash the nuclear hell that has been expected for years and your employers, an elite Mercenary company have dispatched one lone operative to eliminate the wanted fifty-two.
Now take a guess who plays that operative.
At its core, Mercenaries is wrapped about the Havoc Physics engine, where you can smash, bash, blow up or steal almost anything that you can imagine. Backing this up is a vast, sweeping non-linear plot that follows your choice of agent in their quest to take out the imminent threat. Three choices are given to you in your choice of executioner, American and Swedish males and a deadly British female, all with their own edge in the world of hired gun fighting.
Authenticity is paramount, with thirty weapons and twenty vehicles to pick up along the way there is a spread of gameplay variety as you wade through the fifty-two objectives presented to you on your way for the prize capture - the mysterious Ace of Spades.
Mercenaries is set to let slip this Autumn.
