Posted by Chris Snook - PlayStation 2 - UK and Europe Everyone knows that once a console is released the next generation is already being worked on and in a few years the current iteration will be obsolete and off the shelves. Everyone that is apart form Sony. At the Games Developers Conference in California, Andrew House, executive vice president, made the surprising announcement that he and Sony expected that almost two-thirds of the total PS2 sales will occur in the next seven years or so and that the PS2 will continue to be developed. With new features and a deliberate ten-year plan Sony are hoping to cash in on a mature platform that can be built upon, integrating new ideas and technologies, such as the Eye-Toy and the forthcoming PSx. Sony want a total entertainment platform and the PS2 is the core of that system. So who will be playing FF XX in a few years time? Chris Snook
