Superpowers vie for supremacy in the air with one person able to tip the odds this way or that. Do you have what it takes to be a Top Gun?

The year is 2010 and forget the last best hope for peace, it does not exist.

'Global Superpowers, Osea and Yuktobania have begun what might be World War Three today, September 10th. The fighting is taking place over a small island that divides the two mighty nationas and is primarily being fought in the air, there are heavy casualties on either side.

The flashpoint started when the 108th Tactical Fighter Squadron was annihilated by a lone unidentified aircraft, leaving a single newly formed squadron to take the brunt of the ensuing attacks.'

Ace Combat 5 (a working title) aims to go beyond the traditional flight-sim/combat games by giving us top notch rendered craft, fifty of the fully licensed machines, cinematics, realistic weather effects and other goodies. Also included are Wingman Commands so that you can fully control how your fighting mates, via radio communication, react to the changing situation. Another cog in the aim for realism.

Expect the thirty odd missions to wing their way to us early in 2005.
