UbiSoft and Red Storm Entertainment have been busy recently. Yesterday they announced that the third Rainbow Six game for the Xbox was due in the next year and today they let slip that the sequel to the massive selling Ghost Recon game is in development, possibly even for a Christmas release this year.
Based unsurprisingly around the battlefields of the future, GR2 is set to take the successful franchise that step further, UbiSoft's President, Laurent Detoc enthused, "Ghost Recon has established itself as a mega-selling franchise, and we've retained the core elements that made the first game such a success," he continued, "But for Ghost Recon 2, we wanted to dial up the intensity and adrenaline to create an experience of total war. We've retooled and improved every aspect of the game, and have integrated a host of incredible new features - and the result is amazing. You will truly feel like you are the hero of a near-future war movie when playing this game."
With a plot based around a high-intensity situation in the Far East, Ghost Recon 2 looks like it will follow the tracer fire of it's siblings and head for the number one spot later this year.
