Posted by John Grothier - Xbox,PlayStation 2 - UK and Europe Vivendi Universal have just released some brand-new screenshots showing off their new third-person action adventure game set in 16th century Japan. Due for release on the PlayStation 2 and Xbox later this year, players are invited to step back to Japan in the 1500's, where the power of the samurai class is fading and the use of the Ninja has become necessary to hold any political power in this chaotic time. Gamers will take control of Kurenai, a young girl who's world is destroyed when she and her father are attacked by the deadly Black Lizard Clan, who capture her and then brutally hang her by a wire and left to die. However, she manages to survive this dastardly act and is rescued and adopted into a Ninja clan, where she learns complete mastery of her unique weapon, the wire. Now Kurenai is on a mission of vengeance - and vows to destroy the Black Lizard Clan. Here come the science bit. Red Ninja: End of Honor will feature a revolutionary wire weapon, the Tetsugen, where the functionality of the wire is determined by the end attachments and length & strength of wire which creates dynamic gameplay that combines action, adventure & stealth. Got That? Red Ninja will include beautiful, large environments and an event driven storyline, written by Shinsuke Sato, who is a feature film writer and director from Japan. As well as traditional ninja fighting, players will have access to weapons like blowguns, smoke bombs and rocket explosives. Kurenai will also be able to fool her foes by disguising herself, or even use her womanly wiles to entice & distract enemies!
