Posted by John Grothier - GameCube,PlayStation 2,Game Boy Advance - UK and Europe Take 2 have just released some new screenshots of the latest adventure for Serious Sam. The all new alien-blasting episode will be available for the GameCube and the PlayStation 2 at the end of the month. A special Game Boy Advance version - Serious Sam Advance will also be released. Developed by Climax, Serious Sam: Next Encounter will feature a four-player deathmatch option on the GameCube, as well as a two-player cooperative mode for both platforms. The PlayStation 2 version will also feature online play for up to eight players. Serious Sam: Next Encounter will see our hero gearing up once again to defend the Earth from Mental and his limitless extra-terrestrial hordes. Sam is launched back in time to eradicate the alien scum from more than 40 levels spread throughout three beautifully rendered, massive new time periods - Ancient Rome, Feudal China and legendary Atlantis. In this adventure Sam will also have access to vechicles to help him mow down any enemies that get in his way. Sam will also have some serious fire-power, with a huge arsenal of weapons at his disposal that will feature some old favourites as well as some high-powered new additions. Throughout all the frantic blasting, Serious Sam: Next Encounter will feature all the same humour that fans have come to expect with the series. Serious Sam Advance will introduces even more original adventures for Sam set in Ancient Egypt and Rome. This new GBA title features the signature fast paced Serious Sam gameplay, including never-before-seen enemies and bosses and up to four-player deathmatch mode via the use of the Game Boy Advance Game Link Cable. Serious Sam: Next Encounter will be release for the GameCube and PlayStation 2 on 30th April, but until then we have thease new screens showing Sam in some serious action.
