Electronic Arts today added a little bit of Va-Va-Voom to their release schedule by announcing that a sequel to their multi-million copy shifting title, Need for Speed Underground.

With expected release across all the platforms, bar PC, EA is looking to capitalise on NFSU by challenging the player to immerse themselves into the world of the petrol head and customise the ultimate in hotrods. Characters will be able to roam freely around cities divided into distinct sections looking for the best available after sale parts and that one critical edge that can turn a race in their favour.

All of the thirty or so cars are to be fully tuneable and in addition there is to be almost fully double the number of mods that can be made to them, delivering an estimated two billion possible visual looks. Not to mention the all new game modes that are allegedly being lined up.

Need for Speed Underground 2 is in early development but is expected maybe November this year.
