Mutation is setting in
Infection has receeded into mutation as the .hack evolves ready for a new lease of life.

A few months ago, Atari released the first in a four part sequence of games each starting with the title .hack.

.hack: Infection, introduced us to Kite and the near future where the MMPOG 'The World' holds almost total sway. Kite is investigating 'The World' after one of his friends falls into a sudden and mysterious coma whilst playing.

.hack: Mutation is a continuation, rather than a true sequel, marked most obviously by the expected option to transfer saved game data from Infection across to the new game. Ready for Kite to continue to try and uncover the reason - or is it conspiracy behind 'The World'.

.hack: Mutation is due for a June release.
