Posted by John Grothier - PlayStation 2,Xbox - UK and Europe Out next Friday for the PlayStation 2 and Xbox, Red Dead Revolver is Rockstar's take on the gun-slinging wild west. Rockstar's wild west is realized with a wide variety of environments, including dusty towns, windswept prairies, rugged saloons - all of the elements that one would expect to see in a classic western movie respectfully integrated into the game. There is a stunning attention to lighting in Red Dead Revolver. Rays of sunlight stream in through windows, candles and torches correctly light interiors, and the sunsets are breathtaking. Players will be able to play as one of six playable characters, which will include Red, whose family was slaughtered by bandits and left for dead. Red now prowls the open frontier as a bounty hunter, bringing justice to wicked bandits, desperate to unravel the identity of his family's killers. Annie Stokes, who is a cattle rancher who is rather good with a rifle, Shadow Wolf - and Indian Scout from the same tribe as Red's mother, General Diego, a triumphant leader during the border wars with the U.S. and has a thurst for gold. Gamers will also be able to play as Jack Swift, an English gentleman and gunfighter who heads out West to join Professor Perry's circus as a sharpshooter, and a Buffalo Soldier - member of the US Cavalry stationed in the western frontier. Red Dead Revolver will be released for the PlayStation 2 and Xbox on Friday 28th May.
