Get ready to Quake
Forget the arena, idSoftware is going back to basics with the fourth Quake.
Posted by Chris Snook - PC - UK and Europe

There are a few games which slip under the radar. Surprisingly one of these is Quake IV of which very little has been heard about in the last two years since it was announced.

All we really know is that Raven are developing the game for idSoftware and that it is nearing completion, though not close enough to be shown off at the forthcoming QuakeCon.

We also know that the emphasis will once again return to single player mode, with an expected add-in for multiplayer gaming, so out goes the clunky arena of Quake 3. It is to use the Domm3 engine which is presumably why it is taking so long to materialise.

Due out eventually.
