The Battle for Middle Earth has Begun! Posted by Chris Snook - PC - UK and Europe It has been in development for a while and wowed audiences at E3 with what has to be one of the most kick ass trailers to be shown. "We play the bad guys so we can have some fun..." as the narrator said, just as a Balrog is summoned, summed it up. This is The Lord of the Rings: The Battle for Middle Earth We're in RTS territory, set in a living breathing Middle Earth, where the decisions you make can change the course of written history. With realistic group fighting AI, soldiers fight as expected, break when they are too low on manpower or scared out of seven shades. The PC can even summon special moves at tactical moments, to try and tip the balance of combat and you can counter similarly. Such as the summoning of said balrog to mangle the Riders of Rohan. Also released are some of the first few screen s that show some of the action, looking fine and detailed. There is even a Mounted Nazgul. Due out later this year.
