It has been seventeen years since the original Outrun screeched into the arcades. Now the sequel is closing in on the finish ready to start a new stage in the life of the title.
Outrun 2 is a blend of old and new, with remixes of the original soundtracks, graphics that whilst looking sharp and new are similar to the classic look and familiar stage backdrops.
The new is that you can race against unto seven others via Microsoft's XBox Live system, in the Ferrari of your choice. Which is something updated too, instead of the single car you can now speed around in any one of a number of mean red machines, including - Enzo Ferrari, Dino 246 GTS, 365 GTS/4 Daytona, Testarossa, 360 Spider, 288 GTO, F40 and F50.
With a hundred or so missions a bundle of features to be unlocked three modes and fifteen tracks, Outrun 2 is looking to be a lean beast.
Due out in October.
