Posted by Chris Snook - Xbox,PlayStation 2 - UK and Europe Based on the final segment of the anime series The Macross Saga, Robotech: Invasion chronologically follows on from the previous Robotech: Battlecry and once more Earth is under the yoke of alien oppressors. It is 2038, seven years have passed since te Invid, mortal enemies of the Zantredi arrived to fall upon the weakened Earth defence forces and claim the planet as spoils and for use as a protoculture base. A short time ago the first attempt to reprieve the peoples of Earth failed and Lt. Lance Belmont performs the stardust manoeuvre and falls to Earth where he hides from the Invid by becoming the female singer called, 'Yellow Dancer'. RT:I has split screen action for two players and up to eight online via Xbox Live or the PS2 online pack. There are two twined arcs, each providing a different viewpoint - take on the role of a secondary character and see what it is like to be in the background. Also on show are 3D environments rendered faithfully from the series, Cyclone Bikes and a world on the brink. Due out this October.
