Ubi won O2 eh?
It has been a very good year for UbiSoft, some killer games and now a few awards to boot.

Where would we be without award ceremonies? I have no idea but they are an opportunity to see what the games industry thinks were the best out there over the past year.

Last night's O₂ sponsored games^TM Awards 2004 were no exception with fifteen categories (spread over all formats), some of them voted on by the general public there were some surprises and some deserved winners.

And the biggest was UbiSoft, walking away with over a third of the gongs available. Including Game of the Year for Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time plus the best comeback award. Far Cry landed best PC Game of the Year, Rainbow Six 3 for Best Online Game, Tron 2 snagged the Best use of a License and as a whole the men at Ubi walked off with Best Publisher.

Quite a haul.

Sony also bagged an award for Eye Toy: Play and Microsoft stole away with the games^TM Special Award.
