Posted by Marc Hull - GameCube,PlayStation 2,Xbox - UK and Europe While Ubi Soft's Batman Vengeance took the route of the cartoon, Kemco's Batman: Dark Tomorrow is going for a much darker, more realistic view of Gotham, based on the original style by DC Comics. They've certainly had a more difficult task, recreating well-known sections of the Batman universe with incredible detail, and have had everything approved by the hero's creators to keep authenticity high. However, if this new trailer is anything to go by, they seem to be on the right track. Batman himself is looking as dark and mysterious as ever, and the environments contain smoke and rain effects to generate atmosphere. Dark Tomorrow has been in development for quite some time, and despite being announced before the GameCube's release, little has been heard about it since. However, during that time the developers have been creating a big-budget title, with over 30 levels, 60 hours of story-advancing FMV and a soundtrack composed and produced by EMI and the Royal Philharmonic orchestra. During the game, Batman will have to use many different weapons and gadgets, including batcuffs, a finger light and night-vision in his quest to save Commissioner Gordon. The game will combine a variety of genres, including stealth, puzzle-solving, hand-to-hand combat and trap evasion.
