Limited Euro WoW?
Has there been a decision made to limit the initial European release of
World of Warcraft
?

There is a rumour floating around a few corners of the net regarding the European release of the much anticipated and much lauded
World of Warcraft
.
And for once it is not a plot to gip the continent or to create a demand (there is no need as the demand is already stratospheric), for if the rumours are true than it is actually to help you and I havethe best experience we can.
The reason touted is that the game has been such an overwhelming success in the States it has pretty much done just that - overwhelmed the servers. Despite the testing and the technology that keep s the game playable even at a ping rate of a second the servers just cannot cope. Even though it was anticipated that there would be a huge initial demand, no one predicted the massive sustained interest that is powering WoW steadily along.
So what has this got to do with Europe's release, which is moving into the final Beta stages in the next few days? The scuttlebutt is that there will be a constant limitation in place, to allow the servers and the bandwidth to be scaled as required, building up over time as opposed to a sudden influx that refuses to die, So preventing the killing off the enjoyment of some players new to the idea of MMPOGs, drawn in by the fact it is a Warcraft title, but unused to dealing with such things as ping rate, latency and frames per second problems. Blizzard it seems are concerned about their players and appear to be applying lessons learned in the NA release to the benefit of those in the Old Countries.
As stated a rumour but if true a rare piece of long term thinking over short term sales. If so they deserve a damn good huzzah!
