New Sonic Advance 2 screens (TGS 2002)
Check out some great new screens from Sonic's second GBA outing, as well as info on a whole new playable character.

While Sonic has taken some criticism during his recent jump into the 3D world, his 2D outings still remain as some of the most enjoyable console games ever. Sega proved that they hadn't lost this skill when they released Sonic Advance for Game Boy Advance last year, and now they hope to do it again with a sequel for 2003. The new game will not only feature improved graphics upon the original, but also a whole new, playable character never seen before in any Sonic game.

Be afraid, be very afraid. Despite their success with the original characters such as Sonic, Tails and Knuckles, Sonic Team has recently had a problem with new characters. Amy Rose, introduced in Sonic CD, was bad enough, but Rouge the Bat in Sonic Adventure 2?? So, it's with a slightly cringing expression that I announce their latest creation: Cream the Rabbit. Actually, it says 'Rabit' on Sonic Team's official site, but I'll put that down to a simple Japanese-English spelling mistake.

Although few details have been released on this new, long-eared protagonist, new screenshots suggest that she can fly like Tails can, and also has a pet Chao called Cheese (my thoughts precisely), which she can use to attack enemies. She will (thankfully) take over from Amy who appeared in the original, and accompany Sonic, Tails and Knuckles to form the game's fourth playable character.
