Players are invited to take part in a fast-paced 2D side scroller where players must run, jump and shoot their way across the globe in pursuit of the alien's coveted UFO. The artwork is completely hand-drawn and hand-animated, and the game comes complete with 16 levels, each with mini-bosses and main-bosses. In the game, the player has seven power-up weapons, grenades and many unique moves. Alien Hominid also contains vehicles including cars and trucks, in addition to tanks and other offensive vehicles. Players even get the chance to take to the skies and fly a UFO on several occasions. "As an indie developer, it was important for us to work with a company who understood the alien" said John Baez, one of the co-founders of the Behemoth "Zoo loves the alien, we love Zoo!"
