The Orient. A land of myths, legends and magic. A world of mysticism and the unprecedented raw power of the mind, body and spirit ready to be unleashed upon the unwary as they travel through the Jade Empire.
Created by the impressive people at BioWare, specifically by the team behind the original Knights of the Old Republic. Cast firmly in the mould of movies such as Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon and House of Flying Daggers.
Jade Empire is an Action-RPG, where players study at the feet of their Master, honing the styles that are their signature moves, moving into the world only when danger threatens, forcing them to travel and to begin to truly gain the power that they require as they make their way through the harsh mountains, the gardens of the Imperial City and the feared Lands of the Howling spirits. On their way they will discover lost lore, powerful abilities and styles of fighting, exotic secrets and a place as one of the most powerful warriors in the world.
Now scheduled for release in the US in April, Microsoft's Game Studios have also announced that they intend to release a special limited edition of the game that contains a unique character, an additional style of fighting. It was also announced that a 'making of' feature will also be included in this version of the game, detailing behind the scenes footage of how the project was begun and how it was produced.
Naturally the main focus is on Monk Zeng, the additional character who has the power to focus his inner energies, Chi, in order to power his abilities and attacks, blending both spiritual and elemental based magic's to cause immense harm to his foes. Made all the more potent by the use of the Monk Spade, a weapon that delivers devastating slashes before allowing a killing blow to be struck at the opponent to finish them off.
As a further, little bonus if pre-ordered the Limited Edition is to cost no more than the normal version at a reasonable $49.99.
Jade Empire is due out in April over the Atlantic and a short while after in the UK.
