Wounded Hawk
Somalia, 1993. A war torn and divided land, until the US Marines landed. Now every faction is a hostile and they are all after a piece of America.
Posted by Chris Snook - PlayStation 2 - UK and Europe

It is over a decade since the United States landed on the shores of Somalia to a media hoopla and a little less since they made their way back out once more. Now after a wait of two years the PlayStation 2 version of the PC game, Delta Force: Black Hawk Down is in development from Rebellion using their Asura game engine.

Based around the events of 1993, the gritty single player missions, culled from the experiences of real life combatants and planning for actual operations are the tip of the iceberg. As is usual there are co-op modes in split screen and for the first time in a PS2 title, there is online play for up to thirty-two people at any one time, spread over twenty-five maps and seven distinct methods of play.

With superb graphics and neat touches, such as rag doll physics, cut scenes and super-realistic bullet penetration, all powered by Asura, DF:BHD looks set to offer a definitive FPS experience for the PlayStation 2 gamer.

Due out later this Spring.
