PlayStation none?
Sony suffers a defeat in the courts and is told to stop selling PlayStations.
Posted by Chris Snook - PlayStation 2 - UK and Europe

It is possibly the most important element to a PlayStation or PlayStation 2 after the console itself and now the Dual Shock controller may cost Sony ninety million dollars and the right to sell its popular consoles.

It has been revealed that a Federal US Court has confirmed a ruling against Sony that they violated a patent held by small US firm Immersion, a small company that develops and licenses digital technologies.

The patent in question concerns the way that the Dual Shock vibrates in response to what is happening on screen, Sony deny that the patent is infringed and intent to appeal against the ruling, which upheld last years decision to award against them and to order the cessation of sales of the two consoles and a number of high profile games.

Until that appeal Sony intend to continue to sell the PSOne and PS2 in the US.
