New screenshots of Ys: The Ark of Napishtim, a simply stunning looking RPG from Konami.

Konami have just released some new screesnots from their upcoming role-playing title, Ys: The Ark of Napishtim for the PlayStation 2 and PSP. Marking the return of the popular RPG franchise after 13 years, fans of the series will once again embark on a new epic adventure.

"All of the Ys installments have enjoyed immense popularity overseas," said Dennis Lee, of Konami Digital Entertainment - America. "Ys: The Ark of Napishtim originally launched in Japan and has undergone numerous enhancements that make this version of the game a truly unique action role playing experience for the PlayStation 2 and PSP handheld systems."

The fantastical tale of Ys: The Ark of Napishtim will take players on an incredible journey through beautifully rendered environments, both at sea and on land, as they explore the mysterious Vortex of Canaan. Taking on the role of the red-headed hero, Adol Christin, players will embark on an all-new journey packed with adventure, exciting plot twists and unforgettable characters, including bold new enemies. Filled with hours of exciting gameplay, players will fight dozens of enemies and partake in strategic boss battles using numerous sword combinations, special attacks and magical spells.

As players advance through the game using an improved map system, they will unlock incredible hidden artwork and computer generated movies that showcase the legacy of the Ys series. Further enhancing the gameplay is the moving musical score that was specifically composed to match the majesty of the game.
