Rayman 3 Hoodlum Havoc
New screenshots and a look at the enemies our armless and legless hero will encounter in his all-new platforming adventure.
Posted by John Grothier - PlayStation 2 - UK and Europe

The armless and legless hero returns to the PlayStation 2 with a brand new platforming adventure - Rayman 3 Hoodlum Havoc. This time around Rayman is up against a new army of increadibly tough adversaries, over twenty different enemies, each with their own special strengths and weaknesses - so our hero will have his disembodied hands full if he is to save the world from the plum juice-addicted Hoodlum Army, and it's Evil Dark Lum Lord.

Every enemy Rayman fights in Hoodlum Havoc requires a completly different strategy to defeat it. Some may need powerful wind-up punches, while others can only be defeated by hooked blows to the side. Silicon Fusion has a look at a few of these juce-addicted soldiers...

Hoodmonger
These broom-weilding fanatics are in the war in order to free the Dark Lum Lord. The Hoodmonger's are the grunts of the army, and frequently use a scary scattershot shooting skill, and are also known for their love of the cutthroat competition of frog shooting.

Hoodboom
The Hoodbooms' alliance with the Dark Lum Lord is only matched with their love of the firebombs they crave to set off. Their main aim in life is to create the biggest explosion ever recorded, and can turn almost any everyday household item into a high explosive, their favourite being a jug of plum juice.

Stumbleboom
These brave souls are perched atop a pair of wooden stilts, and were originally formed by hapless Hoodmonger troops who were afraid of water. These frequently laughted at infantrymen enjoy a huge height advantage over their fellow Hoodmonger soldiers - all they have to worry about is low-hanging branches, and of course, Rayman.

Grim Keeper
The Grim Keepers are the Hoodlum Army's heavy-forces. They are used to secure captured areas, and are also deployed to guard critical points. Behind their massive shield-like arms lives an army of small creatures called 'Grims', trained to explode on contact. Grims can hunt down intruders and despatch them with horrifying accuracy. The Grim keepers also keep a jug of plum juice handy, as it is known to soften the blow of loosing their precious pets in combat.

Hoodoo
The Hoodoo are cloaked in robes from the finest Hoodlum stitching, and are feared by the lesser Hoodlum ranks. Despite no Hoodlum knowing the full extent of their spellcasting powers, the Hoodoo are renowned for their combat healing. Little else is known, or indeed spoken about these strange sages who frequently hold secrative Hoodoo-only gatherings deep in the forrests.

Rayman 3 Hoodlum Havoc will be released for the PlayStaion 2 this November, along with GameCube, Xbox, PC and GameBoy Advance versions.

Silicon Fusion will bring you more on this much anticipated platformer soon, but in the mean time enjoy these new screens!
