War may indeed be Hell but on screen it is a popular pastime. Now hot on the heels of the announcement that Call of Duty 2 will be available on both the PC and XBox 360 we have a couple of nice new high res PC shots to look at.

CoD 2 is expected to ba a further leap up the ladder of realism, with an interleaving of stories of four soldiers as they make their way through the vicious and lethal fighting of World War 2, facing against improved AI, huge fields of battle with multiple paths to objectives, an all new engine to power the action and what is being termed a 'Battle Chat System', where squadmates can transfer information back and forth, whether they are in the deserts of North Africa or the Snow Fields of Stalingrad.

Further to improve the overall experience, specialist military advisors have been placing their experience and understanding of the conflicts into the mix, delivering a more satisfying game.

CoD 2 is slated for release this Autumn for PC and shortly after for the Xbox 360.
