Deep in the mists of time, when Sony was known for the Walkman and Jimmy White was almost World Snooker Champion, there was a game that bore his name and one other. Archer MacLean.

Now he is back with something that looks to be maybe just a tad special. Archer MacLean's Mercury looks to be one of those games that define a console. Part Marble Madness, part Crystal Maze and looking to be as addictive as a modern day Tetris. The premise is very, very simple. Merely guide your liquid blobs from the start of the level to the end, avoiding the traps, the pitfalls al the while trying to find the path that will give you the most points.

And points mean more levels, difficult to challenge even the best and the brightest of us. Mercury is due out this September, timed to release with the PSP.
