360 Summit Shows Full Circle
The Xbox 360 summit in Tokyo has revealed quite a lot about the overall plan for the console when it is released.
Posted by Chris Barnett - Xbox - UK and Europe

The Xbox summit took place in Tokyo today and allowed the eager gaming world to see what is lined up for Microsoft's self-proclaimed 'full circle' (the Xbox 360). Amongst the games featured were versions of Ridge Racer and Resident Evil to keep the 'old school' happy (although old school is different from old skool, in gaming terms at least. But we may go into this in a future feature).

Peter Moore, corporate vice president of Worldwide Marketing and Publishing for Xbox (now that's a job title to take to the grave), confirmed Microsoft's increasing understanding of worldwide markets when he stated, "Japan is one of the most important video game markets in the world and is a key pillar of our global strategy for Xbox 360,". This was supported by the number of Japanese publishers confirmed for the 360.

As you can see, there are many interesting games here, but the one that caught our eye was the untitled Treasure project. Imagine the genius of their older games but with the power promised by the 360. This next generation of hardware (including Sony and Nintendo's consoles) could well see the older companies rise up once again (Sega are on board from the launches, as opposed to the bandwagon jumping of the current generation). But it could also see them fall, but with larger polygon counts than ever before. We can only wait and see, impatiently as we can (who on this planet can wait to see what the untitled Hamster Corp. game is?).
