PSP's Web Unfurls
In the first major firmware upgrade, the Sony Pocket console gets connected.
Posted by Chris Snook - - UK and Europe

In the first really major update to the basic internal operating system of the PlayStation Portable, Sony have added a number of significant advancements, one of which was a surprise omission from the original launch.

The PSP now has available, on the 2.00 firmware upgrade, a fully operational web browser, to allow those in Japan who own the device to surf the web on the move. Further in an effort to boost the security of the PSP, a slew of fixes have been implemented, in an attempt to prevent DIY code being used to run unauthorised code on the system. The photo sharing feature has also undergone a makeover and is now meant to be easier to use than before.

There is no news whether these alterations will be incorporated into the version that hits the shops here in a few weeks, which if they are missing would be a severe oversight.
